MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ is the product I used on almost every client I ever worked with as a makeup artist. It's a setting spray, a refreshing mist, a makeup melter, and a skin prep product all in one. At $30, it's also one of the best value products in the MAC lineup.
What It Is
A lightweight, water-based mist containing green tea, chamomile, and cucumber extracts. Available in original and several scented versions. Retails for $30 for 100ml.
How It Performs
As a setting spray: excellent. A few spritzes after makeup application gives a natural, skin-like finish and extends wear by 2-3 hours. As a skin prep: good. Spritzed before foundation, it gives skin a dewy base that helps foundation blend more seamlessly. As a brush cleaner: surprisingly effective for quick cleaning between colors.
Final Verdict
MAC Fix+ is a genuine multi-tasker that earns its place in any makeup bag. At $30, it's excellent value for a product that does this many things well.
